Brewing Change in Milwaukee: Soul Brew Kombucha Partners with Mayor Johnson and FEED MKE
At Soul Brew Kombucha, we believe in more than just crafting delicious, gut-friendly drinks—we’re here to build a healthier, more connected Milwaukee.
That’s why we’re proud to announce an exciting collaboration between our founder Alesia Miller, Mayor Cavalier Johnson, and FEED MKE project lead Andi Sciacca. Together, we’re advancing an innovative community initiative: the Tier 2 Food Recovery Program—a partnership that turns surplus produce into wellness-focused products like our signature kombucha and teas, all while fighting food insecurity.
“This isn’t just about kombucha,” says Alesia. “It’s about nourishment, access, and transforming what’s overlooked into something powerful.”
Mayor Johnson shares our vision for a thriving local food ecosystem. His support reinforces the importance of grassroots businesses like ours and their role in driving economic equity, public health, and sustainability.
Andi Sciacca, leading FEED MKE’s efforts, is helping connect farmers, food producers, and community hubs to ensure good food doesn’t go to waste. Her leadership helps scale the impact of small businesses doing big work—like Soul Brew Kombucha.
Through this collaboration, we’re not only saving food—we’re creating jobs, healing bodies, and supporting Milwaukee neighborhoods from the inside out.
Stay tuned: more community batches, pop-ups, and recovery-powered brews are coming soon. Join us as we continue to brew with purpose and pour with soul.
